Nadine Hocter is a beauty therapist by trade and has the insight to the skin to provide the best foundation for the perfect bridal make up on the day, we live in an age where when it comes to make up, less is more and natural is in …
What makes make up for this day so special, getting the right feel for you as a bride and knowing what changes with the flash of a camera is just the tip of the ice berg for the expertise of this field; with all the planning you have on your mind as a bride to be, let your natural beauty be the least of your worries.
How to make sure we are all on the same page; it’s best to have a look through magazines and see what make up appeals to you personally, your idea of heavy and your artists idea of heavy may not be the same. Have your trial no more than 5 weeks before your wedding and not less than 3 weeks before, your skin will change and you may be working on a tan for the big day too.
On the day of your trial its best to wear a white shirt to get an idea of how your make up looks against a pale colour, on the day wear a button up shirt to save the hair and make up when the time comes to put your dress on. Remember that bridal make up will look darker at a glance but on camera will soften and settle through the day. Cover does not need to be plastered on, but should give you a natural “virginal” look.
Professional make up should hold for a good eight hours, most brides have make up done for photos as early as 7am and need to touch up only gloss and lipstick, which I like to include in your bridal package along with brow treading to frame the eye.
