La Promesse Events Creates the Magic for Songezo and Humile

Songezo and Humile decided to get married at Velmore Estate in Erasmia between Pretoria and Johannesburg. With 500 guests in attendance, they needed a venue with lots of space and it had to be in Gauteng as Humile is a Johannesburg girl and loves the city vibe. As lots of high profiled politicians and leaders attended this spectacular wedding security was high on the groom’s agenda which Velmore Estate could provide.

Humile must have been one of the most radiant down to earth and lovely brides I have ever experienced. The brides wedding dress was made by Gert vd Merwe. White Dupion Silk and a top layer of French Silk Organza. The hand beading consisted of a collage of AB Swarovski Crystal and Silver Swarovski Hot fix crystal, complemented by cut crystal, seed beads and small Indian cup sequence. Fortunately for the bride Peonies were in season the week of her wedding and our florist could make her and the bridesmaids bouquets from Peonies. Peonies are such a special flower but only available for a very short period in South Africa.

At the ceremony the tiffany chairs were packed all around the swimming pool. All the ladies received a white parasol to protect them from the sun, it was a lovely sunny day . The groom and groomsmen arrived in a silver Rolls Royce all dressed in uniform, and looked oh so stylish. As Humile arrived in a black Rolls Royce and walked down the aisle on a cream carpet next to the swimming pool while the Vienna String Quartet played The Prayer. While the guests enjoyed canapés and refreshments at the pool area they were entertained by a Sax Player and the newlyweds were on their way with the photographer to catch every special moment they could at the lovely venue.

White benches decorated the veranda where guests had a few cigars and cocktails before entering the spectacular venue area. Entrance to the reception was decorated with tall vases and masses of white flowers. Silver trays with guest names were ready with ladies ready to show every guest personally to their seating. The reception was done with lots of glitz and glamour, white trees with lots of crystals. Crisp white linen, white tiffany chairs , silver cutlery and crystal glasses. Purple and light pink lighting was done to set the mood for an elegant but party atmosphere. A live band with singing sensation Zahara entertained the guests in between speeches.

The four tier wedding cake was made with different fillings for each layer, crystals hanging from every tier to bring forth the dazzling effect the bride wanted for her special day. We had the pleasure of tasting the cake, wow is all I can say.

A separate “nightclub area” was held secret with draping covered with fairy lights between the two areas. As the night went on this area was revealed with the bride and groom opening the dance floor on the all white dance floor. Different lighting was done in this area, purple, pink and white flashing so inviting for guests to dance the night away. We felt so part of the bridal couples guests as planning a wedding for one year together, we became friends with family and friends alike and partied along until the morning hours.

This wedding was to us one word –AMAZING!
