Beautiful Blouberg by Emma Jane ...

Being a local might make me slightly biased, but speaking as a wedding photographer too, Blouberg definitely does have a lot of offer in terms of venues, vibe and backdrop; be it for engagement shoots, wedding ceremonies, couple shoots or group photos.

It’s hard for me to separate business with pleasure when shooting in the Blouberg area, but maybe that’s exactly how it should be – making sure your business has elements of pleasure thrown into the mix all the time!

A few of my most recent shoot venues in Blouberg include:

A photo shoot of a bride-to-be getting ready with her excitable bridesmaids at the gorgeous Blouberg Manor, a coastal boutique hotel with a Cape Dutch style façade, where the value comes from the detail of the exquisite furniture, artwork and décor.

Further up along the beach heading towards the mountain is Ons Huisie , a heritage sight which offers a more relaxed and rustic beach feel for a wedding reception. This quaint venue retains the charm of the historic fishing cottage it once was.

Just a stone’s throw from Ons Huisie is On the Rocks. This one’s a popular wedding venue and it’s easy to see why.  The bright and airy restaurant offers a dreamy spot for wedding reception tables and delicious meals (capacity 110 people) and below, a deck stretches out right up to the beach, with the infamous view of Table Mountain across Table Bay.  This is a lovely spot to make your wedding vows.

Of course, if you fancy something a little more relaxed and intimate, there is always the option of renting a seaside cottage for the weekend and organising a ceremony on the beach.   The white sands of Blouberg and the stunning view of Table Mountain, sets the scene perfectly for an idyllic Cape Town wedding, not to mention the world famous sunsets seen from these shores.
