Bride to Be using iPad

Brides Wedding Genius 2.0

Great if you want something visual to get you into the mood and give you inspiration for wedding dresses, rings, and honeymoon destinations. Over 1 100 different wedding gowns let you search by dress length, sleeve style, neckline or designer. The same for jewellery, and destinations in Asia, Canada, Caribbean, US, Europe or the South Pacific (not SA, I’m afraid). It will help you manage your budget, keep track of vendors and organise your guest list.

Use it: iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch
Cost: Free
Our take: The emphasis is not South African, but it will inspire.

Easy Weddings iPad Planner

This is filled with tools – budget planner, guest list manager, seating planner, to do checklist, suppliers directory / list, bridal notes. Great to have.

Use it: iPad
Cost: Free
Our take: why wouldn’t you?

Day One Journal – keep a memoir

This allows you to set up a diary; a book of memories about your wedding – you can keep notes, use its mapping function, set reminders, collect photos, videos and written entries. Best of all, you can tag with a category function to save you having to flip through entries. It is a journaling app of the highest order and syncs well with iCloud and Dropbox. It helps you remember, record and track your wedding, and your life.

Use it: Mac, iPhone and iPad
Cost: ±R45
Our take: you can use it after the wedding too

Learnvest

Begin the way you mean to continue. Learnvest is, as it sounds, a money management tool. You can set your savings goals, credit-card repayment plans and your wedding monthly budget. At the click of a button you can see if your impulsive urge for cherries on the top of the wedding cake is going to put you over your limit. It’s a great budgeting tool that makes managing money easy.

Use it: iPhone
Cost: Free
Our take: curb impulse buys for the rest of your life

Wedding Plan-it

If you can manage to see your way past the emoticons, this is a very easy wedding planning application to use. Include guests from your email and phone contacts, set up vendors and your budget, and send emails.

Use it: Android
Cost: Free
Our take: easy to use
